I solo'd the entire game. Companions only got in my way. I'm serious, they always walk RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME when either assassinating someone, bow shotting someone, casting, whatever. They are seriously retarded, and I never ever used one unless I absolutely had to for a quest.

lol first post was exactly the problem. I line up on shooting something and here comes the moron getting in my way or breaking my stealth.

Of course it's possible. I think I've used a companion 2 or 3 times just to get past a certain quest or mob. Otherwise they were just in the way.
