I liked Rose more towards the end of her tenure as companion. Martha was OK, Donna was...irritating. Amy is pretty good.

I wasn't crazy about him either. I do like Rose though.
Tennant and Smith are great.
I'd rank them (of the "new era"  :
Smith, Tennant, Ecccleston(?)
As for companions, I really started to like Rose. The scene where the doctor lost her was so well acted... you could feel her anguish.
But, I'd rank:

I think I gave Dr. Who a try a few weeks back but an episode didn't hook me. I remember something about not being sure if I had the right series though. A lot of people have been talking about it lately, and I've seen and liked pretty much every other series that ACF has discussed.
Modern Dr. Who is groovy and everything, but Tom Baker is the best.

what? there was no companion that "started" in the last xmas special. clair skinner was the companion in the last special and she is most definitely not going to be in season 7.
