I think it might win because of the time separation between the old and the new. I expect this to gather a lot of interest from the young that really aren't all that familiar with the original.
This, I was thinking it would appeal to the younger audience.

I don't understand the need to use the name of the old comic trio. Why not just make their own movie about three people acting like idiots? It's doable. Look at Three Amigos.
