Yeah, and had I known those things were no longer applicable, I probably would've posted here sometimes in the last four years....but with the assinine threat of banning not only my account, but my wife's account as well if I EVER got another ban pretty much ensured that I was handed a death sentence as far as VN goes.
Board's always been full of hypocrites...I will miss the memory of meeting people at parties, but I doubt I will have any long-lingering sadness over VN, unfortunately. My anger was because people were STUPID. They still are. You still can not bring up a valid complaint anywhere in a Turbine game owned forum about mechanics without 10 people flocking to your assistance, and 500 ignorant fools foisting themselves on their own petards just to get their heads up the dev's ass a bit further. I wish that back in the day, the mods would have banned the people that were actually starting arguments, not just the people starting a THREAD, or responding to the troll. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess, but frankly, it's not like anyone had a choice to use anything BUT VNBoards in the days before tradebots if you wanted to buy or sell gear. Once people got that you could go on VN, hanging out in a town to barter was dead. Tradebots and global just exterminated the boards.
I'm looking forward to getting some money so I can try out the combat changes, but not to posting on IGN about it. Won't be posting on Turbine's board either. Maybe if this one carries over I might give it a look.
Are you staying on "staff" with IGN at all?
One of our directives was to cater to Developers. Period.
VNBoards were big because of the trade posts, true. You had no option back then.
As for the "hypocrites" argument, it seems to me you are too passionate. Take Diablo 3 and me for example. I am currently extremely excited for that game and when I see stupid comments from people on the boards, I want to flame them but I know there is no point. Why worry about it or get myself banned for it?
I don't know what Teddy plans to do with me. I've offered to go Admin for a few weeks to help him transition, then I will probably be dumped to a Moderator.
I've even considered hosting alternate VN Boards but if it wasn't for feeling like I was betraying Teddy, I would have done that already.

I was payed $50 a month from 2003 to 2004 or so. Then I think I got $150 until late 2007 or early 2008.
I have been "volunteer" like the Mods for 4 years now.
Incidentally, I did get 3 or 4 years of IGN Prime given to me but the account is broken. Figures.

Not that I would ever do that or anything, it's just has to do with a thought experiment I am currently running thru and stuff. 
While I doubt anything account related will cary over (post counts, bans, etc), I don't know. It could cause issues so don't do anything that stupid.

so I read most of it up to page 6 and then I started skimming, so I might have missed this...
Do I have it correct that whatever (if any) account on IGN will be our new account?...so I should probably put something in my signature or something for my name, or make a new one?

I would assume the IGN account that already exists for you will be your "new" account when the change happens. That would make sense to me.
What I don't know is if aspects of THIS account will be transfered. When I say that, I mean post count, admin notes, registration date, post history, etc. Obviously if some boards are moving, then some of your posts history will move, but does that mean your post count will transfer? Dont know.
