Well Frax, I don't remember your case specifically but I know I would have had to approve it either by consent or silence. I took a quick look at your notes and you have some pretty colorful quotes there. Seems you were a different guy with some anger 8 years ago.

If you want more details and promise to be mature about it (I am not being snarky either) you can PM the other Managers and ask them. I have no problems with them giving you the requested info. Just realize that things have changed and what you got banned for in 2004 probably hasn't been applicable the last 3 or 4 years.


As for the second question, I have no idea about the content.

You have never had a 1 week ban. Chances are they were for 24 or 72 hour bans that you didn't get removed right away.





All permabans had the right to appeal after a year.

Re: your incredibly long post there - does that account for the differences between how the ACarktide board has been managed versus the rest of the boards (including the 'community' boards, ACF/Outpost/etc)?

Even today, but going back at least five years I could open a few threads and see fuck, shit, hell, etc. Even today, four threads down, first post: http://vnboards.ign.com/darktide/b5152/116393018/p1/?55 There's been a huge discrepancy in how the differing boards have been treated.

From 2008 and on, we basically gave them a free ride. Reason explained in the above post.
(Edit: Actually I still tried to lower the racism a bit after 2008 but gave up after two attempts).

Before that, we TRIED to bring them to the same standard as everybody else (which were never aligned perfectly anyways). As I said, it was stupid and never worked. I knew better but still did it.

Yeah, and had I known those things were no longer applicable, I probably would've posted here sometimes in the last four years....but with the assinine threat of banning not only my account, but my wife's account as well if I EVER got another ban pretty much ensured that I was handed a death sentence as far as VN goes.

Board's always been full of hypocrites...I will miss the memory of meeting people at parties, but I doubt I will have any long-lingering sadness over VN, unfortunately. My anger was because people were STUPID. They still are. You still can not bring up a valid complaint anywhere in a Turbine game owned forum about mechanics without 10 people flocking to your assistance, and 500 ignorant fools foisting themselves on their own petards just to get their heads up the dev's ass a bit further. I wish that back in the day, the mods would have banned the people that were actually starting arguments, not just the people starting a THREAD, or responding to the troll. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess, but frankly, it's not like anyone had a choice to use anything BUT VNBoards in the days before tradebots if you wanted to buy or sell gear. Once people got that you could go on VN, hanging out in a town to barter was dead. Tradebots and global just exterminated the boards.

I'm looking forward to getting some money so I can try out the combat changes, but not to posting on IGN about it. Won't be posting on Turbine's board either. Maybe if this one carries over I might give it a look.

Makes sense. For what it's worth, I've had plenty of problems with individual moderators but anytime I've actually dealt with you or any of your other assistant managers you've been very helpful/civil/etc. Thank you for everything you've done, Mithan.

I've always tried to be as honest as I can with people which is something even most of the guys who hated me for whatever reason, usually agreed with.

I still to this day think I have never actually lied about something. With hold information, yes, lie? No. Be a dick at times? Ya, I have my moments.


The Moderators usually tried to do the best they could with what they had. I wouldn't be too hard on them.
