Yeah I was surprised the scan wasn't done yet but then realized it has to go through all those incremental backups to so the world times a bunch of files to crawl through. Like I said earlier though I am not really sitting on it I am working on other things so if I happen to notice it is done I will spin the server back up otherwise it might sit a while.
As for the new server. Yeah it is about ready to take on hosting a new map so I might just bring it up when it is.
You're going to do the new server as a new map; or just temp till you figure out if our old map is OK?

It'll be a new map if it gets running for real before the scan is done but I assume once the scan is done everyone will want to go back to the old one. For that matter I am not reconfiguring all of our plugins and permissions so if a new map is up it will be pretty much vanilla anyway.

Yeah it is making it hell for me to test. I could turn off verification but then it wouldn't be a very "real world" test, heh.
Oh and automating/configuring this server is taking more time than I planed. I need someone to volunteer to come over to my house and help me brew tomorrow so I can get some more work done on the server.

I decided to spend a few hours on the temp server to get myself a Minecraft fix.
The Diamond tools Steel popped out when I logged in did help a lot, but I think I did fairly good for a few hours of play.
3 Stacks of Coal, Stack of Cow Hide, 20 Pork Chops, 2 Stacks of Redstone, Stack of Iron, Multiple Buckets. Managed to find gold so I could make a Clock. Went scrounging around and got the pieces to Make a few cakes even 
Plus I made it to bedrock and started my mining operation. So if the old server is fried I do have a good base of operations. ^_^

I don't really want to start a new map, just because I think a lot of people are not really done with the stuff they are doing...
That being said, if it comes down to that, no problems.

I'm fine either way. Still have some plans for the other but starting over wouldn't kill me. There's a lot of fun in getting started all over again.

OK it is up it just took way longer than it should've. Those scans were insanely long. I actually had it rebuilding from the backups last night while you guys were messing around on the test server but it was going so slow I finally decided to crash around 3. Everything looks back up and operational now though.
