There is no such file name in this snapshot I downloaded. The game downloads its when I connect back.

Find the minecraft.jar file in your bin folder. ( %APPDATA%/.minecraft/bin )
replace it with the snapshot version of minecraft.jar
So when I download the client file from here.

It comes as a zip file..so I was extracting the contents but it doesnt look right. So I changed the file type to .jar and replaced the minecraf.jar and tried reconnected same error about my client being outdated.

What I had to do was actually delete the .bin folder, let mc download a fresh one then swap out the minecraft.jar file with the snapshot version before I could connect. I should note I also deleted my mcpatcher file out of the primary .minecraft directory to be safe as well (irrelevant if you don't use mcpatcher add-on program).
Edit: I just saw your last post, it isn't an actual zip file. It is the .jar, your zip program is causing the confusion. Don't extract it, just place it in as you get it after deleting the old minecraft file out of your .bin folder.

I've finally got my cow herd getting up in numbers, go ahead and take two if you need them. Please force another 2 to breed when grabbing some for yourself, I have a small wheat field nearby you can grab some out of. That way all of my cows don't vanish 
Edit: Hrm wtf, my Ocura login on vn/ign has vanished and left me with this for some reason (which I think I only made to test something lol). QQ, where the hell did the "multiple accounts associated with this email" option wander off to?  |

I managed to breed them again and got two calves only out.
I stuck fences in the corners because of SMP glitches where the animals get pushed into corners and suffocate. Looks ugly but you might have animals left in the morning this way.
