for building my castle!

and I don't want to MINE the stuff, I want it to be in my chests waiting for me so I don't have to take a break from building the castle walls.

I'm still on the outerwalls.



yesterday I built the last tower on the southern wall. now to start the other side. after I get the outerwalls done, I need to go get iron to make doors and iron bars for windows and stuff, maybe replace all the stone doors with iron block doors.

THEN I need to start paving the inside square with sandstone. once that's done I need to start building the inner bailey. maybe as an attachment so that way I have a giant square of the outer bailey for a town...

soo much cobble and sandstone I need.

and on that note, I was looking at my castle walls right now, and though it seems huge, it doesn't seem big enough for my planned inner bailey and actual castle. since I wanted a town of sorts built in the space between the outer and inner bailey. I might just have to expand the area a bit.

Ghast Hunting:

Hey kids,

Sneezy and me spent the week laying down a ghast hunting platform to service your ghast hunting needs.

There are 3 towers on the platform, and I've labeled them Central Tower, South Tower, and North Tower. The South tower is closest to the fortress.

You can reach the platform in a few ways:
1) On the nether rail take the exit at the corner before you get to Sneezy's portal. (Corner is x=-14, z=-277) The hallway leads to a ladder which will drop you right into the Central Tower.
2) Go to Sneezy's portal, go down the ladder to the bottom, go through the tunnel.
3) Go to Sneezy's portal, go down the ladder to the second stop, out the doorway and go right towards the fortress, take the bridge to the South Tower's upper level. The other two ways are easier though.

The central tower has a very high upper level and it's meant for sightseeing, practice or teamwork. The lower levels on all three towers are low enough to make solo shooting practical and more sheltered. The upper levels on the North and South towers aren't really all that high (y=60) so you can still solo from there. The North and South towers connect to a bridge.

You can easily get by without armor. I got shot at endlessly while building the towers, and I didn't have armor.
The only thing that killed me was a fall here or there when I was blasted off of the part I was building and fell too far. That said, it's still possible to sustain blast damage, but it's minimal when you're on the towers, or running around on the platform. (Keep moving and eating, no problemo). The towers have fences and you have fair vertical viewing but you can't jump to your death. I tried to strike a balance between visibility, shooting opportunity, and shelter.
