My photoshop CS5 opened the file (only app that could do it).
Its really cool zooming in to see every detail.
Found stuff people built that I had no idea about.
Only thing that could be done is crop out the long exploration fingers but that would still leave a large file (maybe).

Problem is some of those fingers are occupied. My island is at the end of one of them.
It can be greatly reduced but you will lose detail and precision.

I made it from the latest map. If you are having trouble downloading use zoom.it and give it the location of the file. Don't need to now since it is already ran for this map but later on after things have changed you might want to as I don't know if it checks the file for changes or not. Slow as hell to compile but smooth after that.

Road from Nubak's and Aezures heads east now about 800 units.
Cuts through a desert a small mountain then hugs an ocean shore with a view of a great waterfall and ends in the Mines of Infinite Doom.
Also along the way:
World Tree
Old Sky Bridge
My House
Mithan's new towers to the north
Aquaduct
Schoo's out town walls
Tree leaf Tunnel
And a portal to the nether

Looks like zoom.it exposes an api I can use. I could add it to my map script to upload the map each time it is generated then parse up the link on the mc.omnikrys.com page.
EDIT: Yeah I should be able to automate a nightly dump and zoom.it then get the links up somewhere.
Oh and testing a generated a newer one here though it wasn't actually finished converting when I posted this.
