I'd be okay with NO sound file to be completely honest. It doesn't need one, it's a giant wavy purple gate. You can tell it's on.
For what I was gonna use them for, they'd need to always be on, and the sounds would be WAAY too much.

I think you can do it with no file. Not sure though it might need an empty file to work.

Yeah, an empty file with the same name should work, i'll have to mess with it. I just had a magnificent brainstorm with what to do with that open room, and it's basically just Subway from AC, except to
all my crap.
Can I get you to hop on real quick? Move my portal one last time.

Haha one of our older maps webbie made a subway complete with the top passageways and the drop. At the bottom everyone had a gateway to their place.

finished the biodome.
started figuring out how pistons and switches and relays work!
zombies where getting smashed last night, it was fun!
creatures take falling damage right? wonder if i could make a set of pistons push them off into a void to take falling damage.

Just got a new laptop a couple weeks ago and reinstalled Minecraft.
Haven't played since the alpha last year. Can I get added to the server/what else do I need (if anything) other than the client?
