I don't know when or if I'll post on the "new boards" and even if I do, eventually, it's clear we'll lose some of our already diminished DAOC community.
We've had a great run around here and even though the community has changed and we've lost many friends over the course of the past number of years, I'm thankful that we had a meeting place to discuss the game (and more). To those I will never have the chance to speak to again, best of luck, happy hunting and be safe out there.
I also want to publicly thank the mods who have tried their best to keep things around here civil but yet loose enough to allow for some posting flexibility.
Lastly, a special thanks to the 8v8 community.Over a decade ago we chose a common path and created a niche within a game that suited our tastes. I enjoyed the years challenging my own abilities to improve as a player and I respected the class (win or lose) that many in the 8v8 community exhibited. Thank you for helping create a competitive atmosphere that put on a smile on my face every time I logged on. The great thing about DAOC was the game itself but also that it's community had such a wide variety of players; from zergers (for the realm types), red-it's dead, soloers, small man stuff, battleground addicts, 8v8'ers, pve'ers, crafters, and so on. You name it and there was probably a spot to sit down, grab a cold one and fill your cup with good memories.
