Sometimes you get people whose mind lives in the gutter. They see things that are not there. Giving such people power is always a big mistake.

Today I got an in game mail saying that my name has been flagged. I can only think of one way of twisting Fistdeyuma into something that can be flagged. It involves adding several letters and being ignorant that Yuma is a real city.

I made a call and some guy said he would put in a ticket to take care of it. Tonight I logged on to check my AH stuff and could not load Fist. Of all the stupid, mind in the gutter, lowlife things to do. I’m assuming some really stupid person put in a complaint and a lazy person did not even bother to ask me how the name was created or what it means.

Perhaps this is a sign that it is time to move to a new game. I've been playing under Fistdeyuma since Beta. I'm sure another game will not have stupid people running them. If not fixed by tomorrow I might have to cancel my Amazon orders.

Come on, you have been around way too long to actually believe that!

Yeah that was my main thought on this thread. There is no where you can go to escape stupid.

Technically Fistdeyuma is a 3 word phrase and in violation anyways (could be perceived as a title too and having a title in your name is also in violation).

Unless you're on an RP server I'm surprised anybody would ever report that and it's shocking that a GM would even bother. Even on RP servers names are hideous.

I'm pretty sure if you're on a PvP server it's mandatory to have a name that violates the naming policy in at least 2 ways.

Plus given the names I regularly see in BGs or cross realm randoms, Fistdeyuma is about as harmelss as it gets. I'd say "Burningvag" from recent BGs on my rogue is a wee bit worse and that's just one example out of scores of moronic names.

Sometimes WoW is like a competition for stupid people to see who can be the most obnoxious and stupid, and there's a great deal of intense competition. Trade chat and avatar names illustrate the idiocy perfectly.

Blizzard doesn't enforce the more critical rules of the game - it doesn't punish gold buyers, it doesn't do anything about people who buy/sell accounts, etc. So enforcing the naming policy is gonna be way down on the list and it's almost comical when an avatar name like this gets changed vs the thousands and thousands of blatantly offensive names out there.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that

Funny thing is it could to the right person. For most, it would signify the fifth cranial nerve. If you told someone else it meant "three twins", you could twist that into being dirty somehow... I'm going to report you all Enjoy your new names Sally_nightelf_player152 and Sally_nightelf_player153

I wrote a weekly column under the name Fist de Yuma about Asheron's call for around 5 years. The name was "A day in the life of Fist de Yuma."

I don't believe this is mentioned, but you can petition to get your name changed back if it doesn't violate any guidelines or rules.

Unfortunately, as mentioned, some people will report your name just because they can. Let's say, someone you were suppose to heal didn't like it when you left.

So, with the petition system they way Blizzard has it, they report you. The first thing, in most cases, Blizzard will do is change it.

I recall recently in trade someone mentioning their name changed by a moderator from Cowturd to Hiweed. I don't know about you, but that should tell you something about how they police names.

Regardless, I wouldn't quit the game. But, I would ask for a name of my choosing.

Just look into it.

Just name your character Bill and get on with life. Err wait bad choice, people will think of what Monica and Bill did. Ahhh now I have it, John is a good name. Opps hold it, that was the first name of a famous porn actor.

Your right just quit.
