So, there will still be portals in Shat? Wondering since my horde toons are all leveling and being hubbed is nice.
All my alliance toons (10 80's) are bound in dalaran, as are probably most 80's.
I'd imagine there will be a LOT of stranded toons in dalaran if the portals go away.
Sounds like a fine opportunity for poor mages to make some easy gold.

Shatt portals will be gone too.
Which just made me realize that I'm going to have to revise all my guides because most of them depend on portals in Shatt. Grr!

Why are they removing the portals? Were players complaining about the convenience and ease of travel?

Boo, hiss. I'd heard they were going away but since they weren't on that list in the first post I was hoping they were sticking for a short while. 
Meh. Of all the cities, I dislike SW and Org the most. Both sprawl too much and are noob infested.

The cities are changing though right (maybe not until 12/7?) so maybe you'll like the new versions better.

idk about this, I am hoping to see players actually start finding 'hangout' spots out in the world with the ability to fly in oldworld....unfortunately, I have a lot of hope for this expansion lol, we'll see how it plays out
