This expansion is going to end up not being as successful as blizzard hoped.

...because of changes to loremaster, something the utterly lifeless pursue and that most people don't care about. Ok, maybe not because of that.

I dislike pretty much every game change they're making but I doubt this expansion is unsuccessful.

For one, there isn't another MMORPG even remotely close to WoW for overall good, even if they totally screw it up with cata changes. If you don't like the changes but wanna play MMORPGs, you're choices are mutilated WoW with the current failure of a dev/design team, or play another MMORPG that's 50% or less as good as WoW.

For two, WoW players won't put their money where their mouths are and stop playing, at least not in any numbers significant enough to get Blizzard's attention. People quit playing all the time. And come back. Or don't. The game's population/subs/popularity is/was still growing even at the tail end of WOTLK.

Three - a lot of WoW players are so stupid they won't even notice most changes - they probably still don't understand half of the existing game. I'm not exaggerating or anything - I encounter people in WoW that are so stupid I don't know how they manage to log on or pee unattended. This country's education system and parenting is utterly failing.

One thing that's for sure is that things will be different. I like that the old zones are getting reworked. I like leveling up toons and questing and having some freshness there is welcome.

If they had just released another expansion that was exaclty the same as all their other expansions - level a little, do dungeons a little, do heroics, do raids, same old same old then people would complain about it being more of the same.

A lot will be the same but they're shaking things up enough that it isn't going to be more of the same since the game is getting mutilated.

And yet, you still come here to talk about it. Thank you- for awhile there, I think we were all quite nervous that the whining would stop.

So glad I am not playing any longer(or in Cataclysm). Some of the stupidest game decisions I've ever seen because they are too lazy to find a way to make new code work with old code, on top of the countless other changes I completely disagreed with.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass, doofus.

Why even bother posting? Did you want someone to "please don't leave"? LOL

I'm going to start a new character and probably just play it to 60.

Maybe I'll do the Hellfire Peninsula quests, I've always liked them.

My hunter alt is level 55 as of today.

Where does one level for the next few, now that the world has changed and the zones have different level brackets?

If someone has the information and could be so kind.

I don't know the answer, but you can try checking the dungeon finder for instances your level, and it's a good bet the zones they are in are still level appropriate.

I tend to get sentimental so beware.

I like WoW. Pretty much always have. After playing AC for 5+ years the transition was pretty mind blowing. Yes, the graphics were different and more "cartoonish" but they were beautiful. After playing WoW since release, I still notice subtle detail in graphics I never noticed before in areas I've been in countless times. I still remember my first flight between Org and Crossroads.

Anyways, I've spent the last few days roaming the Barrens, visiting old nemesis, remembering the first time roots sprang out of the ground and held me fast, thinking about old PvP fights and such. It's kind of sad a lot of that is not gone forever but at the same time, I look forward to flying over old haunts once only accessible by ground and exploring new areas.

For me WoW is not a profession nor do I take much of anyone or anything in game that seriously. The worst that can happen is I get to attempt something again … and again … and again … until I succeed or decided to move on to something else.

WoW is a great diversion. I am a Paramedic and a Nurse. I see real life misery and pain every day. I see how unfair life can be to some people. WoW is a great release to leave some of that behind me when I have the need.

Sure, I get frustrated with game changes some times when I am comfortable with the way things are. But just like in real life, change is inevitable and we have to adapt and move on.

I am ready to move on to Cataclysm and new adventures. Just like AC, one day WoW will be old and I will be exploring a new universe but for now, bring on Deathwing.
