I agree, the Gnome starter area was very "meh". Although the "car wash" (decontamination) was a funny moment (it could have lasted longer.)
Rolled a Tauren Pally and am totally hooked. That one is going to 80, er, 85. So, yes, one more alt and I'm going through the new 1-60 zones horde side, for sure.
I ABSOLUTELY HATE the new Orig. Looks cool. Waiting for elevators is not. 
I've... can barely bring myself to say it... have parked my horde alts.... <sob>... in Silvermoon.

Too bad all the cool newness completely goes away at level 58 when you go to Outlands, since Outlands and Northrend are exactly the same as they've been been for years (which is longer than the trip from 1 to 60).
I predict that most veteran players who start a new toon won't get past level 61, when they realize its all the same old crap.
And with the barrage of nerfs blizzard introduced in the last few patches, they most certainly want us getting to 85 ASAP so it can then be "balanced."

1-60 will probably be different enough to stave off some of the boredom (based on vids and quick explore through some zones). 60-80? That will be a zippy fast leveling blast through well-known quest zones on leveling-optimization autopilot aided by exp increase gear. That's just peddle to the metal and "get through it" IF the toon is going to end-game.
Can't speak for others, I know I've wanted a different Tauren tank/melee for a while (and a DK didn't feel right), so the end-result is worth the 60-80 in the middle.
My husband wants to explore the new alliance 1-60 game, and yes, Spooky, you are right, whatever I roll to "go exploring" with him will probably get dumped at 60.

It's much quicker leveling now and not quite the hassle of running around. I know this will annoy some, but the quests are quite linear with little excessive running around. So it's very quick now.

My mage has just over 1 day /played and is now level 61.... leveling is pretty lols now. That's without RAF btw.

I'll be leveling my alliance worgen druid, warlock and rogue. I really miss my horde druid, although my alliance mage has taken center stage as my new most loved toon. I haven't played a mage in ages since I didn't level one very high on my horde server, and I'm really having an arcane blast playing one up at high level (70).
