Blizzard posted:

Quote:

The uneasy armistice between the Horde and Alliance is steadily cracking beneath the strain of Deathwing's devastating return and the Shattering of Azeroth, heralding a new era of bloody conflict.

The clash between the factions has also never been so hotly contested: Battleground brackets now match up teams more evenly. The new brackets span five levels each, except the final bracket composed of level 85 players:

10-14, 30-34, 50-54, 70-74

15-19, 35-39, 55-59, 75-79

20-24, 40-44, 60-64, 80-84

25-29, 45-49, 65-69, 85

Fighters can also join the battle in Arathi Basin, Eye of the Storm, and Alterac Valley at an earlier level than ever before:

Level 10 - Arathi Basin and Warsong Gulch

Level 35 - Eye of the Storm

Level 45 - Alterac Valley

Level 65 - Strand of the Ancients

Level 75 - Isle of Conquest

Level 85 - Battle for Gilneas and Twin Peaks

These changes should offer players a more consistently competitive experience in the Battlegrounds as their characters level, as well as provide for more exciting PvP conflict than ever before.

I'd guess this means longer queue times, but with all the re-rolls for the redone content and new races that may not be the case.

It's good to see some of the BG's moved to lower levels, but it still doesn't leave much for variety.

I like it. Doesn't mean for sure long queue times. If the same amount of people are joining up, it just means that the BG's will be blanaced better. I always thought it was a little pointless to join a BG when you were at the bottom of the bracket. 10 levels is too much of a difference.

It will mean a longer queue if your BG is low on players of any particular bracket, that queue will be longer, if all your brakets have about the same amount of people queueing I don't think you'll notice a difference.

Good change, and long overdue.

queue times for my level 27 is anywhere from 9 to 45 minutes at the late hours. although at around 1am it stopped popping all together as far as I know... I went to bed after an hour of waiting.

I, on the other hand, prefer a command-line system 'cause i'm so hardcore
/north /north *You encounter an [Avatar of the god Set]!*
/cast sheild *sheild spell unavailable*
/csat shield *csat: unknown command*
*[Avatar of Set] beheads [Peasant]*

I imagine when they moved to cross server battlegrounds, they haven't had to worry about the lack of players in the battlegrounds as much. Combined with all the new rerolls that will be hitting the servers come expansion, this change makes sense. It makes teaming up with your friends a tad more challenging, but whatever.

If it doesn't hurt the queue times, excellent and needed change. If it does cause long queues I would like to see it replaced with a system like Warhammer (I know, hold the guffaws for just a sec--) had where lowbies in the bracket got boosted up a bit, like others have mentioned before.

For my money, they could just flush Isle of Conquest, and probably Eye of the Storm, down the toilet. I guess they broke up the brackets to try and give people some chance of surviving against the packs of rogues wandering near graveyards.

Some of those brackets ... and given the queues ... you could queue at level 11, and be level 16 by the time the queue pops.

I can see it now, the Twink Level 14 BG Guilds:
"We Are 14 And We Act Like It!"
"Please Don't Make us Level!"
