Releaseing or even having a beta start around the same time as a Blizzard release (cata, dec 7), is pure genius.

Cool, grabbed a key from Curse only to find I had already been accepted to the Closed Beta already. Guess I should check my email more, hehe.

These keys are similar to the ones they gave out awhile back. It doesnt give you access but flags your account for a higher chance to be selected and the more keys you have apply to your account the better the chance.
Crazy way of going about it.

Here is a video explaining its features.
Two factions
Dynamic World - depending on if rift faction is winning or defenders are.
Spec Tree called Souls - it appears that say a rogue can eventually get access to other classes abilities like mage portals in end game.
I don't do Betas but I will try it out in 2011 when it will be released.
Only negative I see so far is that it appears to be first person, hopefully that is an option they choose for the video.

Not really, they'll lose the 'hype' factor.
Their game will be incomplete and unpolished while Cataclysm will be.

Buh, the video shows third person right off the bat when it first shows actual gameplay with the UI...
edit: After watching the whole video, they didn't go first person once

Perhaps, I thought it looked like they were filming other people playing but maybe it was the player and they were just panning around.
