So it's not the same as some of the other purple drops out in the world? That hurricane bow (around level 37) I got every time from random mobs in Tanaris, some purple shield in the 40s I always got from random mobs in Feralas, etc? This is some other category of drop.

that is an insane price. on my server these regularly sell for ~400g. they are up regularly.
but it seems to make perfect sense that items like that would sell for a higher price than even armor/weapons. a recipe is something that does not ever get replaced, and shirts are something that you can use at any level. if i were a tailor i would pay 1000 or so for it without hesitation even if i never was going to craft the item just to complete my recipe list!
