What's a healer without the DPS'ers?

It's about courtesy as Liquid said, nothing more, nothing less.

I QQ'ed when a warrior in my group rolled on the gun from the last boss of Vortex and won it, while I sat there with a green bow almost 200 DPS lower than the drop.

now that is a example on how some peeps in WoW suck..

well i don't think its about courtesy. if anything its discourteous to expect first dibs on everything. everyone there should have an opportunity to get any item that they can FULLY utilize. especially now that everyone has dual spec. for example i go resto to heal dungeons on my shaman, but the majority of my time is spent outside dungeons in my dps spec so if anything i want dps gear even more.

if i went in there as dps and rolled on healing gear that would be completely rude...simple.

Oh I see, it is ok if you think it is, but others are retarded. Way to be a spoiled b$%^&.

With dual spec there are many new occasions where healing classes should be able to roll on dps gear. It is also courtesy to think of and reward your healer too for healing you through the instance. If you keep the healer pigeon holed into only rolling on healing gear, they will stop healing, then there is less healers which is bad for everyone.

It is common courtesy to ask permission to role on things for an off spec. Even on my pally tank I rarely roll on things for my ret build. First and foremost you should be rolling on things that improve your roll in that current dungeon. If you want to roll on your off spec, queue up as your off spec and no one will ask any questions, otherwise ask permission.

Personally as a resto shammy I wouldn't even roll on that shield, all the STR does me no good. Unless I saw greed all the way through, then I'd ask and wouldn't expect anyone to refute.

Heck last night on my Resto shammy a caster ring dropped, I looked at what kind of an upgrade it would have been for me. It had Intel, Spirit, Stam and some secondary stat. It was an upgrade but not by a whole lot. A lock in my group rolled need, I passed. just wasn't a huge upgrade for me so I was happy to pass it on to the lock.

Yep, I got it on my shaman three nights ago, out rolled a Warrior and Pally for it. Why are so spoiled and entitled to think they get everything. /sigh

My guild ran the instance like 4 times last night. The shield dropped and the pally tank got it. There is also a shield that drops off one of the bosses that is a shield with INT on it. I got that and the hammer off the first boss for my Shammy.

I've given up caring when DPS roll on tank items so I usually play it by ear and go with how the rest of the group behaves... it is progression content and will be outgrown in hours of game time... I would frown on it is when you get to close to end game items!

If I was on my Pally tank, I would expect to roll on DPS items and likewise I wouldn't care if I got outrollwed by a DPS War on a tank item - but if I was DPSing on my Pally, I wouldn't roll on tank gear unless the Tank had already rolled on DPS.

But a Shammie has no business rolling on that shield IMO... I don't know a huge amount about Shammies but an enchance shammie would dual wield and that item is no benefit to a resto/elemental shammie... so what were you thinking?!

Yup I do have what I believe to be the Shammy version of the shield. Looks the exact same but the stats are caster stats.
