I've done both starting zones and about half of deepholm. I'm level 84.5 now.

I have a slightly different perspective, having been away for 2 years, but for all it's flaws, Cata sure beats playing games that have NO new expansions on the horizon, a skeleton or incompetent development team, and empty servers, i;e Vanguard, AoC, Aion, etc. Even LotRO was somewhat of a disapointment. So yeah, you won't hear me b*tching too much about Cataclysm  .

The 'healer issues' are going away with upgrades and people playing intelligently. There is a night and day difference from when I first started healing heroics to today.
I honestly kind of figured this was the case (though it was only a suspicion as I only just got back from vacation this afternoon), but as I read the complaints I was reminded of the early days of BC when healers would OOM and the party would wipe if there wasn't enough DPS to kill the mobs quickly enough ON TRASH PULLS IN HEROICS.
I was also reminded of the days where if you pulled aggro as the DPS in a BC heroic you got one-shotted and nobody blamed the healer because it was impossible to heal a 1-shot, but now, of course, people are blaming healers apparently according to the stories, for basically the same thing (healers can't afford to heal people who pull aggro and keep the tank up too).
Anyway, glad to hear that the WOTLK monkeys are starting to L2P again, maybe there's hope for this game if Blizzard doesn't dumb it dow...er... patch it too much.
Don't get me wrong. It's still INCREDIBLY difficult and today someone told me to "break your arms so you cant play this anymore" when he got killed on the final boss in Throne of the Tides.

Going well. I am focused on money making right now (made 100k so far), dailies and just doing a daily heroic once a day.
Gear is ok, nothing special.
My DK does about 9500 DPS in heroics, 10-11k if I really go nuts and push it.

When people realize that fire is bad again the healing difficulty disappears.
Cataclysm is going great! I love the new dungeons... especially H HoO. My warrior is tank/tank spec and I have been getting to do some amazing kiting with my trash/kite spec! The H HoO boss who opens the portals and the H ToT boss with the shadow creatures is a blast when I have a crap pile full of them just slowed and training me 10 yards back.
We worked on magmaw some last night but we still need to pull some more gear (~ avg ilvl of 344) and we needed more burst to get down the worms.
