Maintenance Wednesday ... did they just forget to do it yesterday?

I just tried to log in and see the mainteance notice... down for maintenance today (Wednesday) from 5:00 am - 11:00 am. Pretty odd, there was no maintenance yesterday, and now they decide today they need to do so. Wonder what's up? Maybe they just forgot about it yesterday? Or maybe there is some important hotfixes to drop that require more than just a restart? I suppose I could brave the official forums and check there...

Braved the community site forums, saw a 21 page post about it with everyone freaking out or flaming the freaks. Evidently there is some urgent issue, something about players not being able to connect or stay connected or whatever. Didn't see anything from Blizzard as to what the urgent issue is, maybe we'll find out later.

In my experience, when it's THAT urgent, it's usually a "OMG genericWarrior guy #13453 figured out how to duplicate a billion gold in 5 minutes."
But who knows.

I'm sure it has to do with all the people cheating the Arena/bg's system. As this has happened at the start of every single pvp season.

i wish they made the permanent switch to wednesdays. tuesday is my freest day of the week
