Merry Maker Guide Updates! |
It's beginning to look a lot like...Winter Veil! The Holiday Season begins tomorrow (Wed 15th) and that means it's time for more achievements! Rill has updated her Merry Maker achievement guide to reflect a few of the changes brought about by the Cataclysm. More updates will also be coming over the next day or two as the locations of the 80-85 Winter Veil hats are revealed. So check back often! Happy Achievement-Hunting Holidays!

-Changed some of the travel routes due to no portals 
-Horde Scrooge has you throw a snowball at Baine now instead of Cairne.
-Ally Scrooge has you throw a snowball at Muradin now instead of Magni.
-Ally Bro's before Ho Ho Ho's has removed Brother Anton in Desolace.
Waiting on/Will Update soon
-Which bosses drop Winter Hats in 80-85 dungeons.
-Possible changed Locs of Metzen the Reindeer.
Other than these notes, as far as I can tell, nothing has changed.
Edit: Oh and I'm working on an updated Cooking guide for Ally and Horde.

Ally Metzen is in the same place but I can't seem to find the horde metzen. Will keep looking.
Edit: Okay found him on my horde character so he may be phased so alliance can't see him. Or I'm just blind. XD He is in the same area.

Maybe he only shows if you have been "Nice" and not "Naughty"? Sort of in support of the Big Guy and all...

does this mean if my toon is still only 80 (even though they may have some XP into the level) they can still get the hat from Nexus? I went there today, made it to the lady and she wasn't wearing the hat so I bailed, but it got me wondering... once I am any XP into the level do I now have to hit a Cata dungeon for it?

I haven't confirmed this but I'd imagine that it's possible. At 80 you can walk by most of the trash in normal mode Nexus and get to the first boss pretty easily. If you've got some healing ability she's simple to solo too. If she's not wearing the hat, try a few more times. It's a pretty high hat rate so if you don't see it within 3 or 4 resets then you probably need to do the new instances.

I did Heroic Nexus at 82 today and she had the hat on and dropped it. Many reports on Wowhead say the hat wasn't dropping for them on Normal. 82 is the last level to go to Heroic Nexus with the LFG tool.
