But Christmas was "invented" to cover up the pagan celebration of the winter solstice.  The bible doesn't tell when exactly Jesus was born, but by the descriptions the bible itself will prove that it was not on Dec 25th.

Happy Holidays refers to Christmas and New Years, since they tend to go together. The term didn't originate as a catch-all for all December celebrations... though that's how it's used now.
