i hit 30 on my shammy, so i decided to dual spec and try out healing, i let the group know from the get go, we were in SM, after the tank pulled the whole room at once and we cleared with a few heals, they asked me to stop healing and just dps. told them, just trying it out, we were mowing down mobs anyway cuz most were in heirlooms...
so 5 mins later i'm booted, wtf, i qued as a healer, was healing and no one died? was in the wrong?

What were the other classes in your group? Were they able to keep themselves pretty well healed up?
Chances are they wanted to get through the dungeon faster and thought your DPS would be more helpful than whatever heals you might have been doing (that may not have been completely necessary).
That's not a comment about your healing.
That's a comment about the group's expectation/values.

You were probably with a mostly guild grp. You didn't do what they wanted you to. They didn't need you. They could 4 man it so they booted you. If you Q with only 4 peeps you're gonna get a 5th. Besides, you might have rolled ons omething theyw anted tog et for someone. And you were "just a pug"
More going on the jsut the healing thing. Hard to tell the full story.

Yep, I was in Stonecore Heroic at the first boss and was asked to specifically kill the adds which spawn every 5-10 seconds or so which did, then was chastised and subsequently booted for not pulling enough DPS on the boss.

WoW has a community of fowl bowl movements.
LoTRO is a refreshing change in that regard... generally a friendlier experience.
