Don't listen to the horror stories. In the hundreds of RDF runs I have had, I can count the number of *bad* ones on both hands. I am not talking about runs where we wiped, or where I had to carry one of the dps. I am talking about terrible "I wish I didn't join the RDF" type groups.

Overall, I must say the RDF is one of my favorite additions (if not my favorite) since the beginning of the game. Give it a shot, I think you will find it ridiculously convenient.

I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

I believe if that you've outlevelled a certain instance, if you enable the low level quest tracking on your radar you'll be able to see the quests for instances even if they are grey.

Well, if you physically run to the dungeon, then yes. But if they're grey to you, then you won't get queued for that dungeon for random groups anymore, so you won't be able to do those quests anyway unless a high lvl guildie goes to the dungeon with you and helps you run through it.

Or if you find a group the old fashioned way, right? Though with RDF, that probably doesn't happen much these days... I remember standing at the entrance to dungeons with lots of other people and forming groups that way.

I haven't done the RDF yet, I heard so many horror stories and then I was having fun questing anyway. I need to pull the chord and give one a try though, maybe tonight.

Yeah, the problem with this is that you probably won't find anyone asking for a group for those places anymore outside of maybe guild chat. Otherwise pretty much everyone uses RDF now, since it's so convenient, and joining/leaving a group is so easy. Chances are also that you may never see that person again, although that also makes it hard to find peeps you did like without using Real ID (which I would only recommend if you're comfortable with people knowing your real name).

I'm just painting a worst case scenario for you. But the vast majority of dungeon runs I've done were fairly decent, and downright enjoyable in some cases. My only real issue is that not many people talk, they just want to kill stuff, get loot and go. Some groups we chatted like normal, other groups I saw maybe 3 lines of dialogue the entire time lol.

So yeah, just wanted to mention that after trying it out a few times tonight, I'm loving the RDF.

The two times, that I can recall, where an NPC outside the dungeon sent me to a dungeon was in Stormwind. If I understand it, it's a class specific quest for a weapon or armor. For the hunters, these quests start with an NPC in Old Town.

He's in that area near the trainers for hunters and rogues.
