I just read this article:
http://wow.joystiq.com/2010/11/11/cataclysm-quest-reward-armor-sets-for-1-60/4
Is this really true? If you stay within the "correct" zones for your level, every 10 levels the quest rewards end up being a matching set of armor (visually).
I noticed this was true with Vashj unerwater zone from 80 to 81, about mid way through I was wearing a cool look matching set armor all from quest rewards, but I did not realize they had done this in the old world too.
Leveling is way too fast anyway so I was thinking of doing a toon without my BOA chest/shoulders (since I already get too much bonus xp just from my guild level anyway).
Just curious.
Yes, I like to look good, clown suits have always been my biggest gripe with WoW

I think it is this way now, provided you pick the gear and wear it, instead of just picking the item worth the most money and selling it off.

I can confirm that the leveling is so fast that you will barely notice what you are wearing...

but to actually answer your question, I leveled mostly in LFD, so my suit was rather clownish and mismatched.

The rewards will match up. The issue is if you use the DF at all you will out level the zone far before its climax. With Heirlooms, doubly so.

I ran my Alliance shaman from 1 - about 50 and noticed this. Basically I got a full set of armor in my late 20s - 30s, then when I went to EPL, picked up a second full set that was identical looking to the previous one but a different color. Think - something like the RvR set and then the changed color/upgraded RvR set in the next tier and youll get the idea.

I always remembered fondly the hooker-clown look of caster gear in HFP
