Might be totally anecdotal but I have to agree. I've been lagging A TON more.

Do the usual stuff
- Change cable and/or switch port (unless wireless)
- Upgrade NIC drivers
- Check driver settings, might be a QoS or other setting bringing down performance
- Disable whatever security solutions you have running
- Check your event logs
- Look at the router config and logs
And a constant difference of 50ms between two comparable systems on the same exact home network is a wide enough gulf in that metric to raise an eyebrow. Whoever said otherwise needs to stop talking out of their ass - because their ass is stupid.

Maybe all the people downloading patch data from you?
And the ability to log on fine one day, they chuck a minor patch at us, and I lose the ability to log on at all. Again, how is it on my end, when THEY make a change and I cannot login all of a sudden. And they start telling me to check my router, disable this, open port that.
They make a change and shit goes wrong, they should own up to the fact that is is THEIR fault.

Mal, are the two machines identical?
Does one have priority over the other in the router setup?
Are all of your settings (and I mean every last single setting in windows) exactly the same?
Are the versions of windows the same?
Are they running identical sets of software ( i.e. exactly the same processes running when at idle)???
Answer these questions, and then we can narrow the 50ms difference down to only a few thousand variables.
