The best depends very much on if you are soloing or in a group or raid. If you are solo a tank type pet, my favorites are bear and rhino, could actually give better overall dps as you can push harder before pulling aggro particularly if you are Beastmaster. If you are doing groups or raids a more dps oriented pet such as a cat or fox will probably give the best result. Something else you have to consider is how a pet is talented.

There are many types of pets available. For PvP pick one that has a disarm, root, or snare.

In PvE pets are so generic it really doesn't matter, and having a focus recovery dump proves top by small numbers.

Also keep in mind that those that do things like stun, disarm, root, or snare do so for very short periods of time and are accompanied by long CD's and high focus cost.


Thus those skills are virtually worthless and you really do not want to use them as your deciding factor.
