What they are saying is since we have a skeleton crew in maintenance mode now, we would have to hire programmers or pull someone off a new bigger project to do it which would cost money.

If you think my opinion is idiotic, re-read yours.
Dont worry I will give my opinion anyways.
The PvP MMO is NOT a "niche" market, Mythic is just a "niche" company.

Pretty much my take as well. Corporate Greed is really hurting this game and, if history is any indication, there is no guarantee any future product will be a bigger whale than wow.

Expensive may also mean the amount of processor cycles in the GPU or CPU. WoW has never been a game that is CPU or graphics bound and they likely want to keep it that way.

It is such and old game graphics wise by today's standards most would probably not even see a bump in fps.

The simple fact is starting with BC WoW development has been about what is easiest for the Development team over all else, this is merely an example of that.

Its a simple case of prioritisation...

Who gives a monkeys about tabards and spell animations - sure, it wouldn't take long to develop or implement and I am sure you could employ another person to do the job. But you assign your resource to the items which will generate the greatest benefit and if you employed another person they would be directed to the next item of greatest benefit.

Of course you could argue against arena development and for this... but you're not in charge of their dev cycle. From my own perspective, there are dozens of items which would come above a 'tabard fix'!

The point isn't the tabard fix itself, but the fact it is analogous to their entire development routine since BC.

I don't see how it could be expensive to produce... I assume they already have someone that can do animations.

I was pretty disappointed that the mage night elf casting is exactly the same as balance druid. If they weren't going to add any new classes, they could have worked a little more on the new class/race combinations. These things may not seem like they matter, but they add to the game and keep it interesting.

When you still have several million mouth breathers buying 100% recycled material, why on earth would you spend a penny to produce new material?

Business 101: Sell people's own crap back to them every chance you get, because it is all free money
