If you think my opinion is idiotic, re-read yours.
Dont worry I will give my opinion anyways.
The PvP MMO is NOT a "niche" market, Mythic is just a "niche" company.

It's amazing how many replies in this thread show that the posters lack reading comprehension skills.
Just because some people decided to comment on a certain aspect of the post doesnt mean that the rest of the info was lost. Are we not allowed to comment on individual points of a post anymore or something?

Last time somebody in our guild got hacked and took stuff from the guild bank the GM told me essentially: Tough luck but we can't do anything about your guild bank. The person who got hacked has to submit a ticket to get it restored. The guy had stopped playing wow for at least a few months and he was deployed so we couldn't get a hold of him...not that it would have done any good. He hasn't come back since the hacking either.
Needless to say that prompted some rank changes in guild. We now have an 'inactive' rank that has no bank access. A general membership rank that has access to one 'Free For All' tab. And every rank past that requires an authenticator.
I'm glad your guild got it's stuff back. It's good to see Blizzard seems to have changed it's stance on that issue. And BONUS for getting duplicates. I've noticed duplicates happen a lot when Blizzard restores stuff. At least half the people I know of who have gotten hacked always ended up with something duplicated. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I don't think it's an honesty issue when Blizzard doesn't seem to care about accidental duplicates. If they did, wouldn't they take more steps to prevent it so it wasn't so common? Food for thought.

Its all about looking after customers
I had this happen a while back to my account and ended up getting 3 times the amount of stuff back
Purely because I was missing certain items as in weapons which I had two of the same etc.
Did I complain ? No….
When I filled in the satisfaction survey they got top marks.

When my account was comp'd they restored all my stuff twice, except the gold.
I didn't care one way or another.

I am curious if your nephew's friend's account was indeed hacked or he actually stole the stuff.
I was wondering this myself.

Please elaborate, how our assessment that the OP is an ungrateful twit, is incorrect?
