Holy power, is it a pro or a con? When Cataclysm was released Paladins were given Holy Power. New spells and abilities are dependent on Holy Power instead of mana giving the player one more thing to pay attention to while playing. You use certains pells to get Holy Power, then you use Holy Power to cast other spells. Was this a good change? Why not just leave spells as mana based? Is there a need for the extra source of energy? And how effective has the change been?

One more resourced for GC to nerf and control. It's bad, it is another way for the devs to dictate how the players will be doing something, if you want to use the cool new holy power, you will heal with holy shock, like we want you to!

If I wanted combo points, I would have rolled a rogue or feral druid. GTFO my paladins.

Holy Power sucked when it was added and it still sucks to this day.

If they had just added the "holy power" based spells as "mana based" when Cata came out, we probably wouldnt keep seeing Blizzard screw around with Paladin mana regen et al.

Rogues probably wish they had holy power. Stacking points that stay with the player not the target would make rogues drool.

IMO holy power adds nothing but tedium to all specs of paladin, and the original WoW design was all about removing tedium and emphasizing fun. Sadly, GC and the stooges are out of touch with WoW design principles, intelligent design in general, and just do whatever they "feel" at any given moment, which leads to random elements nobody ever needed or wanted.
Do you think even one player ever posted or talked to GC about, hey, wouldn't it be cool if paladins had these screwy power points sorta like rogue combo points with 1-2 abilities that hinge on those points making them almost entirely useless and just a waste of time?
Kinda doubting it ever happened. Just the crack fantasy of some designer nobody can stand.

It's ...annoying. Especially with the default UI. I'm often tempted to get that MoveAnything addon just to deal with it. It's making me dizzy constantly looking down to watch cooldowns on my spell bar, over to watch timers for DBM, then up to see Inq/Judge timer then over to HoPo - repeat.
Also, depending on HoPo makes the ret paladin rotation feel clunky. It's just not smooth. It could (grudgingly) be considered an improvement over facerolololhitwhateverisup that it was in wrath but it still needs polish to make it smoother IMO.

Let's face it, Holy Power as implemented by GC and the gang is a turd. They can polish it from now until the much fabled but never seen WoW-killer finally arives. And all they'll have at the end of it is a very shiny turd.

The players really enjoyed the way paladins played in Wrath. So clearly, according to GC, there was something wrong with that.
