Wotlk was the wow killer for me. It just rained gear, the only way anybody could have better gear was running HM's and even several of those were not really "HM". Welfare is about the closest thing I can relate that entire xpac to and it left enough of a sour taste that I most likely will never return to even find a reason to qq about Cata.
