The Season 9 set was removed today. The items available for purchase with Honor Points are now considered lower tier Season 10 items. They are still the same items from Season 9 in terms of aesthetics, but the item level and stats are slightly higher to ensure that the Season 10 honor gear has the correct item level relative to the Season 10 conquest gear.
It's likely this is how things will work going forward and we'll be sure to make that more clear when the next season transition takes place.
New basic transition flow:
1) Season X ends and rated play is unavailable; Season X gear becomes available for purchase with HP; CP is wiped.
2) One week later Season Y starts and rated play is available; Season X gear is removed entirely; Season Y introduces a low tier of items which replace Season X vendor items and are available for HP; Season Y introduces the new top items available for CP and rated play.

Basically, PVPers were gearing up last week complete with re-gemming and enchants etc. and then 1 week later Blizzard changes the gear! So people wore that gear for 1 week and it is now obsolete... and people have to start regrinding again.

All they did was move the gear from the conquest vendor to the honor vendor, and make conquest gear available.
It's the same gear
Edit: Okay, the weapons are the same (season 9), the armor is "season 10"...
So its half and half.

its kind of hilarious (only because i did not grind any honor that week) that they give such a huge "f you" to players like this.

Aside from a weapon, I bought gloves, shoulders, and a ring. So not too terribly bad (especially since alterac valley was in its holiday weekend) but still would of been nice if I had known what they were planning on doing.

There sure have been a lot of "mistakes" where pvp gear is concerned since 4.2 launched. On top of letting people waste points buying an obsolete set for a week, they converted people's honor to gold a week earlier than they said they were going to. I would imagine that there are a lot of people who lost a lot of points in those two debacles.
