If this is in the game at release, then I really can't play it. The AH system monetizes loot, which will require 1099s be issued to players getting loot, since it now has real cash value even if you don't sell it.
You may think this is a silly concern, but I've had enough dealings with those wonderful people at the IRS in the past to know how they think. I've been through enough hassles with them that there isn't a game out there worth risking more time in their gunsights.

I, on the other hand, prefer a command-line system 'cause i'm so hardcore
/north /north *You encounter an [Avatar of the god Set]!*
/cast sheild *sheild spell unavailable*
/csat shield *csat: unknown command*
*[Avatar of Set] beheads [Peasant]*

It doesn't effect me as I will playing this as a Single player game. I don't like the fact that they are going the way of UBI though and having the constant online DRM feature. If anything that might prevent me from buying the game, and of course when it releases.

Use it as a teaching device to show them the value of money. Pay them to do some chores they wouldn't normally do so they can see that money isn't left by the tooth fairy.

Blizzard's recommendation is that you speak with your financial adviser, before you plan on making a lot of money through their system. (I am 100% serious on this)

What a badly-constructed poll, good lord.
For me, the AH they propose comes as a relief. I was looking forward to Diablo III but sort of dreading the gold-spam (they used to even send whispers in private battle.net games) and I expected an explosion of shady websites selling loot for RL money while also keylogging player info. If you played Diablo II you know how bad it was, and is, haha. Several of the old D2 item sale sites are quite active even today. That sort of activity has grown exponentially over the last few years...since Diablo is, at its heart, a loot-focused, trade-centric game, I figured the whole thing would be a freaking nightmare.
So this move by Blizzard is a good one (unlike your poll =P), and I welcome it. I don't see myself using the RL $ option, but I'll use the AH with in-game gold just because I enjoy that sort of thing.

Me to... seemed backwards options.
I WILL play, -1 from yes. ha
I will use both the auction houses and will enjoy both. I have the ability to pay for items in games and am more than willing to! Bring on the virtual shopping and I shall fill my bags.

lol...some of the responses in this thread just confirm my suspicions. While not the most...fluid wording I've found lately, simply reading the post through once before you vote should have cleared up any confusion (with a possible minor exception for ESL folks; no, that does give you a pass, Korrigan).

Yes... It was a carefully laid trap with precise execution.
