If you read the last paragraph, it seems as if we are going to first "build" the Faire and then will be able to use it. Almost exactly like the Argent Tournament...

I for one am just glad that blizzard is finally doing something actually new, instead of just recycling old content.

ZOMG! Sarcasm! I almost didn't recognize it coming from you Spooky. I'm too used to taking your depravity as serious argument.

Post count just means you spend too much time reading and not enough playing.

4.3, beside the Deathwing raid, seems to be very "fluff" oriented - all what WoW was missing compared to games like LOTRO. I wouldn't be surprised if the game gets housing in the next expansion...

There will NEVER be housing in WoW..the technology doesnt exist. ......... ...or does it.....

I always imagined they'd implement GUILD housing instead of player housing. Something instanced for sure and likely vary limited as far as what you could do with it. No vendors, AH, banks, ect. But you could check a box to display 'trophies' of whatever guild achievements you've completed. Like if you've kill Ony as a guild then her head would appear on the wall.

To my knowledge, Asheron's Call was the first MMORPG Call to provide houses for both guilds and individual toons. Guild mansions were great: a gathering place for all guildies (something missing from WoW). Toon appts/cottages were less useful (except for the extra item slots) when their novelty died off.

I'm truly looking forward to new darkmoon cards and new quest buffs. Hopefully we get a real tanking card this time around.

Guild houses also totally ruined towns in AC1. The idea was good, the implementation was catastrophic.

SWTOR: 50 Jedi Shadow (Tank), 50 Sith Marauder (Annihilation).
LOTRO: Lifetime account, playing very casually.
WoW: Both accounts canceled for now.
GW2: Future Warrior.

the only game i played where housing worked and didn't screw the game up was ffxi. it was instanced and people could only enter their own houses so it didn't empty towns out. it was used for storage, decoration, growing plants for different uses, and other things like that.

putting housing on the actual landscape is ruinous for a game imo. so is creating mass instanced housing where everyone can go into the housing zone or the guild house etc because it completely wipes out towns. something like that might work in warcraft since everything has been automated to the menu anyway. so instanced housing, even guild instanced housing, could work i think but i also think it would be absolutely pointless.

as far as the faire goes i'm actually glad to hear about what they're doing with it. alot of things like this might be repetitive and boring but taken from that view everything in the game is repetitive and boring. the more variety we have the better and this gives us one more thing to do.

The only time housing was awesome was UO (because you could rob fewls like what!?) and DAoC because you could sell your wares through it, IMO.

i rather liked the ffxi way of handling that too. if you didn't want to use the auction house you simply set your character up as a vendor and people could browse what you were selling and buy it directly out of your inventory. similar to the way trade bots worked in AC i guess but much simpler.
