Been tanking/playing on and off since release and love it, wouldnt play another class. So after playing the suck a** game rift game back to wow. From 80- 84 been running 5 mans and not one item has dropped for me. Maybe the dips*ts at Blizz should give tanks a better chance at getting gear. Really, how many times can I run the same lame dung hoping to get a piece of gear to not have it drop. Rant off...

A lack for dropped gear is your only reason to not want to tank?


Ugh....there's much, much worse.


And there's all sorts of other ways to get gear, there's not a lack of tank of drops and now that you can reforge stuff some "dps" items work just fine for tanking. If you haven't seen any drop it's just bad luck.

That's just bad luck, it's not a reason not to tank. DPS and healers have bad luck streaks, too.

You can get ALL of this as a DPS or in shitty tank gear. You can fill the rest or even supplement Valor for JP gear until you get the Valor. Don't worry about drops. Those come with time and should just be "oh, cool those finally dropped" rather than sweating it every time it drops.

I guess you didn't realize that there is a full crafted tank set that you can purchase at level 80 that allows you to tank all the way to level 85.

OR, you also end up with a full tank set had you quested in the crappy quest zones from 80 to 85.

OR, you could be like all the other morons out there and just reforge your DPS gear and slap some tank stats on it, and when you epic fail you just blame the healer.

Or better yet, don't reforge and just join LFD in pure green DPS gear, and still blame the healer every time you fail.


That is the way most people play it

i used to like tanking as a lowbie, but never got that high with any of my tanks...same went with healing, THAT i cant stomach.

seeing how tanks and healers are getting treated NOW, i dont even bother trying to level tanks/healers.

My first toon was a prot warrior... As soon as I got him to max lvl (80 at that time), the dungeon finder was released and tanking with strangers was not fun. My main now is an elemental shaman.
