Honestly it almost doesn't really matter how low the AH price of these goes. When a player has 3 options available to them for acquiring gold, they can either buy from a 3rd party seller at moderate risk of getting banned, buy this and play the AH and NOT get banned, or spend ridiculous amounts of time grinding dailies. Two of these choices means Blizzard wins. It's almost a no-brainer when it comes to which most will choose unless the gold sellers offer a HUGE incentive, which they probably will when facing HUGE losses, or the AH is totally saturated with these pets.
But in the end it doesn't solve the main problem, except for putting the money in Blizzard's pocket instead of the gold sellers. Not that I really see a problem with that. More money in Blizzard's pocket will HOPEFULLY lead to more development time for future expansions instead of the C-Team effort we've seen since Cata. I stress hopefully since Blizzard is already the highest paid MMO developer in history and has already dropped back to their "stand-by" C-Team.
