And then I remember that I hate the land since Cataclysm. I want the cities back the way they were. I enjoyed leveling before and now I don't. Can anyone else relate?

Cities? What did you do, stand around and wait for the dungeon ques to pop?

In the beginning I did outdoors questing exclusively, toward the end I did the stand around and wait for que thing. Once the game devolved to that for me I knew it was time to quit.

Still lurking here as I am undecided if I want to come back and play the monk. It will probably depend on whether GW2 suits my gaming needs.

I mean like my walk to xroads and then each little hub along the way as I make my way to Thunderbluff to get the flightpath. (and help find Kyle of course on my way!) The whole path I liked. Eventually working my way down to 1k Needles.

That was why my husband quit the game. In an MMO, where persistent world has meaning, my husband says that Blizzard violated that unspoken MMO rule when they "broke" the world and all the "exploration" that goes with it. He was also unhappy with changes at end-game, talents, abilities, etcetera. He would have rolled with those. When they changed the world and added gratuituous phasing/cutscenes... he decided it "smacked too much of RTS" and was done.

I also found it annoying. As someone who enjoyed rolling alts, where half of the fun was the efficient ways I had created to get me through the leveling journey... and those were utterly destroyed.... yes, I can relate.

What's really stupid: I'm playing a game that has one starter zone now, doing the same quests over and over which is <tongue-in-cheek> mildly boring and I still wouldn't come back to WoW. To rephrase the famous quote, hell hath no fury like a former-player scorned.

There are those who play tank classes, and those that tank.
The weapon is only as good as the person wielding it.
Free advice is often worth what you pay for it: nothing.

I always liked leveling in instances in WoW.

A friend and I used to do this a lot, make new chars and pretty much level exclusively in dungeons.

I find myself wanting to do it again often. But I don't bother anymore, then "end game" is just too out of whack now that when I think about hitting max level I shudder

If your alliance then the areas outside SW are not horribly changed.

I enjoyed the new 1-60 stuff but it was like hitting a brick wall when I had to go to outlands. after 6 times I just can't do it again =/

I have leveled six toons to 80, and my last toon is 65 and I am working on getting him to 73 before I can gain my final levels via RAF. All of this in the past three months.

I like playing through the 1-60 stuff more now that I did before; It has somewhat interesting/funny questlines, it is brief and it gets you from point A to B rather fast. It works quite well if you want to level multiple toons without getting too terribly burnt out.

Outland/Northrend need a dose of revision however.

I agree. While some areas still look good, and the new added areas too, some of the old ones were way better before. Darkshore and Westfall with the retarded PERMANENT tornadoes... please... Loch Modan, one of my favorite areas, completely ruined. That stupid crack full of lava in the middle of Barrens. No more Thousand Needles and Great Lift. Very bad.

SWTOR: 50 Jedi Shadow (Tank), 50 Sith Marauder (Annihilation).
LOTRO: Lifetime account, playing very casually.
WoW: Both accounts canceled for now.
GW2: Future Warrior.
