I wonder if they are realizing that people are using these to come back and try new content then bail before they have to pay thus costing bliz money.

i haven't been giving out scrolls for at least a year now but back in 2009/2010 i got so much free time i'm still not paying, and i haven't touched this game in 3months.
Probably one of the reasons due to everyone who got so much free time stacked up.

I remember you. You loooooved spamming that Scroll of Res thread. I remember watching you and two or three others trying to outspam each other in that thread. They would post their links, you would post yours, they would immediately repost theirs, etc. Pages and pages of the exact same links being reposted every two or three hours by the same handful of people.
