Yep, he posted his opinion and I posted some facts. Funny how that works, eh?
are you also one of those people who say wow was dead years ago when the FACT was that it had 12 million users?
i also would have given GW awards... the first couple weeks i played it. then it got boring and i quit within a month. and the fact that something wins awards doesn't mean it's good.
look at how many @#!%^#!#$^! movies win "best picture" and you watch it and say WTF did i just watch? i want the last 3 hours of my life back.
also, re-read my original post. i never called GW bad, i just said it wasn't that great and that i got bored with it. two different things.

Try not to own yourself next time.
If you are an English major and actually got a degree then your school really sucks because every single one of those is subjective. Please allow me to demonstrate your complete lack of understanding here.
Personal - of, pertaining to, or coming as from a particular person; individual; private: a personal opinion. (That looks subjective to me.)
Attitude - manner, disposition, feeling, position, etc., with regard to a person or thing; tendency or orientation, especially of the mind: a negative attitude; group attitudes. (Oh dear, every bit of that looks subjective as well.)
Appraisal - the act of estimating or judging the nature or value of something or someone. (Estimate? Uh oh! That is subjective as well!)
So as you can see I didn't own myself. Mostly all you've accomplished here is make yourself look like an idiot who went to a really crappy college.

I don't think you understand what an opinion is at all. An opinion is something that can only be subjective so calling a game bad that has a stack of awards isn't an opinion, it's just plain wrong. However if you were to say you didn't enjoy the game for X reason, that is an opinion. posted:
Dude, you were wrong. Admit it. No amount of personal attacks are going to make you right on this. You tried to use one deifinition of a word to make me look stupid, when in fact it just proved that you yourself didn't understand the full definition of the word.
Seeing as the person who posted the game was bad, posted as a personal opinion, he wasn't in the wrong.
And half of those awards... guess what, subjective opinion based by some editor for a magazine or gamesite.

Yep, you've just confirmed that your education was worthless. In fact I'm in awe that you would so willingly make yourself look like a complete fool. Who 'boasts' that they are an English major and then demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of several words?
Also, if the game were to have won one or two awards you may have grounds to say that they are subjective. However, if you count the number of awards there you'll notice it isn't a small amount. In fact I'll go ahead and count them up for you because you may not know your basic addition given the fact you don't know basic English.
That is 23 awards and 9 great reviews.
For the record, those awards and reviews are a lot more objective than subjective. Usually they can't just give their opinion on a game, they are required to explain in full detail their reasoning behind what they say. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a group collaboration in most circumstances. Not to mention the fact that these people know what they are talking about a helluva lot more than some random forum goer.
I do hope you post again because I'm enjoying watching you make a bigger fool of yourself.

I've never once said that WoW was dead. In fact I didn't start playing until Wrath, the peak of the game. I sure as hell don't have a problem with saying WoW is dying right now though, notice how that isn't dead though.
For the record, the fact that something wins an award means it was good if the award is for something you can measure. If you'll look at the list of awards I posted you'll see that several of them are for something you can quantify. Trying to bad mouth movie awards in an effort to support your argument is just sad by the way. I happen to enjoy a lot of movies that get awards. So sorry that you are too butthurt to enjoy a friggin' movie.
"i never called GW bad, i just said it wasn't that great and that i got bored with it. two different things."
Yes, because the difference is so staggering between saying something isn't great and saying something is bad...

GW sucks.
Edit: not to mention Oblivion launched in 2006, which is one of the best RPG games of all time.
Any "review" or "award" that chose GW over Oblivion I find to be suspect, if not laughable.

They are both quality titles and if you would have bothered comparing the awards the two got you would have seen that Oblivion did in fact beat out GW for Best RPG in most publications. I suspect your real reason for posting what you did has absolutely nothing to do with your true opinion though Mr. Troll.

I don't need to "compare awards"..I played them both... in 2006...
Even without the multi-player aspect, Oblivion is still the better game, period.
And again, I laugh at any "outfit" that gave their "award" for "Best RPG" to anyone but Bethesda that year.
Best MMO...perhaps..
Best RPG? No way in hell.
Edit: I'll go ahead and predict that Skyrim crushes GW2 in 2012 as well.

The point being that had you bothered to not be lazy you would have seen that GW only won a single Best RPG award, compared to Oblivion which won multiple Best RPG awards. So in other words you are blubbering for nothing because what you are saying is true.

I think Quazi is trying to say that even though all the awards that GW won are at its core opinions, the sheer number of them show that the game is well constructed, and is a solid creation. Whether or not each person enjoys that creation is another story.
Using that Oscar nomination analogy: any movie I've seen that was nominated for best picture, etc, I've always walked away from it saying, "OK, I get why it was nominated." Because really, they've all been well done in my book. But some of them I hated and some of them I loved -- that's where personal opinion comes into it, me thinks.
I won't touch the grammy's, cause all music lately sucks, so I never watch or follow that award show.
Guild Wars was a well made game, and I totally see why it got all those awards. Personally, I hated it because I couldn't jump (I know, weird, but it bugged me.)
