I'm just having a hard time understanding why so many corporations are pushing PVP as endgame *cough* Bioware *cough*, when it has already been proven (except for GW1) to be a total joke. How many MMOs in the recent years has pushed PVP as end game, and already shut down? I'm not even going to try and list them, considering there are so many of them.
Unless of course you count the F2P genre, and F2P games are so far out there that it's hard to count. F2P games don't require skill, they require bank roll.
If GW2 can continue the "PVP for end game" ideals that GW1 embodied, then all the power to them, so long as they can provide enough PVE content to sate the people who actually spent money on the game for something new, which initially GW1 provided, and continued to provide with every expansion.
There's a reason why WoW has been king of the mountain for so long, and I can guarantee it's not the PVP. You think they took WoW PVP off of the professional circuit because it was getting stale? Sure, there are still TONS of people that PVP in WoW, and I sincerely feel for them. But WoW is the king of the mountain because they have provided solid and (relatively) consistent content for the past what... 7 years?
As for me, I will solidly steer clear of any game that touts PVP as end-game. I have seen way to many games finally die because of that premise. And I hate to say it, because as much as I love the game, SW:TOR will be the latest victim.

I'm a lurker and I know it.
Post count just means you spend too much time reading and not enough playing.
