just made a toon here. haven't played in years. in case i fall into an allegiance, i just want to make sure it's not a band of well-known ass-hats

There really isn't too many allegiances to get into that would be bad, its more to find one that fits your style.
For example, The Haven (Paloma II) does a lot of questing, very family oriented group that is large, but does not permit unattended combat macroing.
My guild is very small, only has a couple of actives (basically my wife and I and sometimes one other person when she is on, but thats about it.
Some of the other guilds I can think off the top of my head are Legends, Sunwalkers, Duns clan name I cant remember and Ispar's Gauntlet are some of the bigger clans around. Good luck with your search.

I think most of the well known bad un's have either left the game or moved server. The guilds Air suggested are all really good, and people are always really friendly ig regardless of whether you are in their guild Welcome back!

Keep forgetting about the stick.... or is it just amnesia?
High tolerance for pain also required to be in the Haven.

edit: by the way, thanks to whoever runs the Iou buffbot in the marketplace. i'm passing c-notes as i can afford them. i forgot what a pain in the ass the 10quick 10coord 10focus template was
now i'm waiting for the memory of how to make my own arrows kicks in
