That One Moment on Mordred |
Hanging around Domnann with a RL friend who was on his rank 5 savage. 3 guildies port in and want to fight him. I'm in vent with the guild and tell them all they're gonna get rolled. Buddy plays a good savage and this is before the rear stun got
nerfed. They started talkin all big and low and behold all 3 proceeded to get their shyt pushed in. Savage landed all 3 run through rear stuns and tore em all up. I've never heard a vent like that before. My guildies couldn't believe it. All three were astonished, pissed AND embarrassed lol. I was grouped up with the savage and didn't do anything. I actually sat down and watched it happen. I wish I would've fraps'd it. Was one of the most epic fights I've ever seen.

Back in the first few months of Mordred (classic DAoC) we had formed Clan Forsaken and ran around with a full group of chanters with a couple clerics camping places like Camp Station and CD, places with small town that had towers in them. Before the Chanter Pet LoS nuke got nerfed. We were all like mid 30's catching groups of t50's coming in and blowing them away exploiting the LoS pet nuke haha fun times.
honorable mention: Setting up camp on bridges with this same group and bombing folks as they rode by on horses (good times)

There really is no one moment, it was more of a collective feeling tied into the moment.
The biggest thing that drew me in was the rivalries, and community where everyone knew who you were. It was our own world. Even post ToA it was decent for awhile.

my cousin billy played with me when mordred first came out, we were a friar/bd duo pretty low level and we ran into a fg of yellows/orange players killing mobs. we extended the fg and killed them 1 by 1, it was epic.

BDs didn't exist when Mordred first came out. You don't need to try to prove anything, we already accepted that you were a noob blue server player that came to Mordred late after the server had already peaked.

Funny thing with Fugu, he'd type that while he was saying it in vent. And he'd type as he was in the middle of a fight to talk trash. Fugu was comic gold and I would play with him for the relief. That whole leeeeroooyy jenkins thing? Fugu impersonation all the way.
What I miss the most are the caster fights and one fight in particular was:
Chuva, Orenishi, Jessx and Runny versus 8. (Eld, Sham, Cleric, Sorc) The fight was so long that both sides FOP'd and then re-hit. We ended up killing them and Ilsunx comes back from afk and was upset he missed the fight.
