There are lots of things you can do for a good template that cost little to nothing. You don't need Infernal Sleeves, ML10 legs and Levi Rings to be good. Most of us don't have them either and don't care enough to PvE for them so you aren't at any disadvantage.

1. Epic Quests - You might as well do them while you level, or if you're already 50 it isn't that hard to backtrack. The end suit of armor isn't very good but the updated jewelry you get along the way is amazing. You can check what your epic rewards are here. Many of them have 5% ToA bonuses with stat caps and decent base stats.
2. Artifacts - many of us vets will give BPs to help newcomers with these.
3. BP jewelry - trade able now, and same deal; many of us will help you!
4. Slayer armor - anyone can fit a couple pieces of this in.
5. Level up in areas that drop scales! (i.e. Dartmoor) That should cover most any remaining gear you need.
6. It only takes a couple hours to complete all of your Champion quests rather than waiting til you get CL5 for the weapon.

Farming Afrits for RoG is also a possibility, particularly for casters/healers looking to get a cheese duration template, or try to get nice items to sell in housing. If you are unfamiliar with Afrits, here is some info on them:

By killing Afrits and elementals, you gain afrit essences.
With 5 essences, you get one energy.
With 1 energy, you can buy a tier 1 mob drop.
With 3 energies, you can buy a tier 2 mob drop.
With 5 energies, you can buy a tier 3 mob drop.
1 energy = 5 essences
3 energies = 15 essences
5 energies = 25 essences


You probably noticed the purple giant guys near Aerus, Stygia, and Volcanus.

As a Mid, your merchant is in Typhon's Reach.
As a Hib, your merchant is in Green Glades.
As an Alb, your merchant is in Stygian Delta.

To buy something from Typhon for example, you need 25 essences for 5 energies.
Then you give 5 energies to the merchant, one by one.
After that, you /whisper Typhon, and you get random loot from Typhon.

Chan, Zahur, and Traldor are generally the best for making money.

Doing these things should take care of all of your gear except for a few crafted pieces to fill in holes at little to no cost. MentalBurn has some crafters and is probably willing to help with it. I have a spellcrafter I can help people with (I used to have more crafters but my characters got deleted).

Dont waste ur time getting Chan items with Afrit Energies, Chan is soloable and very easy to farm.

Are there any main / bot combos that can reliably take out the Master Afrits without MLs? I used to kill them all the time with a SM + shaman bot combo - but that relied heavily on the ML9ed salamander pet... I think it will be a while before I get any MLs on this server.
