We dont have the tech. Free to Play usually involves an in game store to buy stuff (upgrades, special equipment...etc.)to offset the revenue lost when you went free to play.

I can't believe people are still too cheap to pay for something that costs the same as going to 1 movie or that is cheaper then 1 night at a bar/club, or even cheaper then almost every other form of entertainment.

I wouldn't pay the cover charge at a bar where there was no one at and I also wouldn't pay for a ticket to a movie that game out 10 years ago and was only good cause there were not many other movies out at the time.

So don't pay for it. Just don't expect them to give it to you for free simply because you don't want to pay for it.

The NFL Giants and the Vikings played a game in Detroit when the Metrodome collapsed. Tens of thousands of tickets were made available free to anyone who wanted them, limit 4 per person, had to pick them up physically at the Ford Field box office. No other process or guidelines were established.
It was a fiasco. People were jumping lines, going window to window to get more than their 4 limit, and people who had waited in line for hours and were near the front got nothing. Anybody who came 1 hour after the box office opened was out of luck.
If they had just charged *$1* per ticket, it would have been different.
I'll pay my $10/month to hold my accounts open in AC so I can play here. Charging keeps most of the riff-raff out. I don't know if I could still tolerate some of the asshats that used to play here who would come back and be asshats again if they could do it for free.

The answer is simple. They just made LOTRO F2P a month or two ago and it's been a cash cow for them. AC would not be the same, and in fact would take $$$ away from LOTRO - not very much, but some.
