There really were a lot of great submissions!
Before I show the answers and announce the winners just want to break down how the winners were determined. It did stray a little from the original plan since we extended the time on the contest.
Obviously the first determining factor was the amount of correct guesses and then in case of a tie it was whom ever submitted first.
And now for the answers:
Clue/Icon #1- I took a visit to a strange place, hoping to find something new and exciting. What I left with was an utter disappointment, not even as good as a stupid t-shirt.
Clue/Icon #2-What is made here is not there, but maybe found somewhere on VN.

Clue/Icon #4-The golden night is in a state of sunshine. It's always a sporting time
Clue/Icon #5-You maybe seeking refuge from the elements when you choose to find me. However to pass through me you must read and speak in a foreign tongue, but do so with caution for I am guarded by one which lies beneath the night sky's reflection.
Clue/Icon #6-I'm super dark and full of teen angst. I'm normally found soaring like a bird in the clouds but I'm actually stuck hopping on the ground.
Clue/Icon #7-I can be found enjoying my heavy metal 24/7. I'm really quite the head banger, especially while devouring my mate.
Clue/Icon #8- I don't know Who he is, but she may be a Piper
