Aiming to solo most of whatever I can (Be it Artifacts, Farming in Laby etc) while solo, without a buff bot. Any recommendations? Been away from the game for ages.

The game has changed alot if you've been away but the the core is still the same.


Friar/warden/Valk are all melee with healing so they do very well as a solo character


Champ buffs help those classes that would otherwise struggle solo because of efficiency


Warrior/armsman/hero/blademaster/merc/zerker

Maulers are also up in the category as friar/warden but I find them less appealing with their mechanics being shorter duration selfbuffs


Any caster with a pet or pure damage casters do fine With caby/Sm excelling over others because of lifetap

then you come to classes that can kill without taking damage like rangers/scouts where the bow damage and self buffs make them formidible but they suffer in melee.

Then we get down to whats left over and with the advent of dragonslayer gear/ml gear and boosted epic armor where heal procs heal back large pools of health and improved frequency means that almost all classses excluding a mentalism mentalist or a pure healing healer can handle most mobs upto red/low purple

Id go with a friar, good damage and insane survivability. Could also get yourself SOM, a heal proc staff (or aoe DD), max out reflex attack, and goto town.

A few casters can shine as solo toons: Heretics, Cabalists and Runemasters amongst the best, however one does stand out and that is the Sorceror. Great crowd control, a large choice of pets, lifetaps, dots, ML9 with the one down side being that they are dependent on the local zone for pets (mostly an issue in the epic dungeons).

My paladin has always done well solo.

I always did well with a hunter solo, if I remember the spec was something like 41 bc, 39 sword, 50 arch, left overs in stealth. Gives you a charm, a decent insta pet for the Oh crap scenarios, good ranged damage, and an evade follow up style with a stun (5 secs if memory serves).

Agree with trilo.

Sorc is great for solo, especially in zones where you can nab a mob that heals. The long duration aoe mezz ensures fights are always 1 vs 1.

Second choice, and honestly they are both kind of equal in my mind is a tic. So long as you have a small amount of range, you can kill virtually anything before it reaches you. If you dont? You can heal yourself.

edit: if you have the seals and gear, then both valk and reavers are awesome solo toons.

I have fun with my reaver, however I do get irritated with the amount of resists I get on the style procs.
