After a few days of watching him play, I decide to give my son's game a try. I put in his name and password, pick a server he's not playing on and selected Hibernia as my realm. I decide I'm making a female character as most of the female players in the game do. My grandson (yep, I have grandkids) says name her Alicia. He wanted his baby sister to be named that, till he found out it was a brother! Ooops, name already taken. I know, I'll add his initials to the end?Aliciaday, that worked! Now to choose a race. Firbolg's are just big and bulky looking?blech. Celts are pretty plain, Sylvans just ugly, Shars got funny looking pointy heads, kind of ugly. The Elf?she looks pretty cool, Elf it is! Next up is the class. The magician classes sounded a bit involved, don't think I'm quite ready for that. At this point I wasn't sure if I was even going to like the game, blademaster sounded like you just jump in and start pounding. Spec points? Well, she's a melee class so she's going to need to be strong and fast?split them all between strength and quickness. According the the in game descriptions that was what she needed. So there you have it?Aliciaday the Elf Blademaster is born.

I started off running around in Mag Mel, doing quests and killing mud men and skeletons and being killed by spraggons and water beetles. I roamed around Ardee, got trashed in Muirs Tomb, wiped in Tir na mBao but was having fun doing it. I was astounded by the size of this game. I've only played things like Baldurs Gate and Heroes of Might and Magic before this. I explored everyone and everything and died A LOT. I even found my way to the Frontiers when I was around level 7. Didn't last very long, but I was having a good time, and didn't care if I died. I found the game to be an awesome out after a day at work. It was relaxing, it was fun, and it was a little bit of escape, even if it was just an hour or 2 after dinner. It wasn't long before I met others in game, and created other characters. I was definitely hooked! Eventually, we were able to adjust our character attributes so Aliciaday's starting stats were fixed with the help of some friends. Yes, I still have her and yes, I still play her. Although not as much as I once did. Blademasters were picked apart by the game developers and they don't take a hit as good as they once did, and they don't seem to hit as hard as they once did. Maybe one day, they'll get around to fixing that and I'll start using her regularly again.

My first toon was Goetz.. my thane. Still have him, still have his house and he's still the GM of the first player guild I was in.. Wooden Sword Wonders..

Have the guild house too.

But sadly no.. I almost never play him except to craft armor.. he's my first LGM (Revered)..

my first toon was Spyy the paladin on gaheris server. had no clue what to do so i auto allocated points in creation then was told to spec 2 hand and slash rest in chants. i dyed all my armor red and was running around DF area when i was level 14ish. man im glad i knew what i was doing 2 months later when i won a respec stone. yes won, remember when those were rare?

My first char was a druid on hib/lance. Boud has that account now but i didnt play him anymore anyway as i played full time on gaheris. I was a popular healer back in the day before gaheris though!

My first character when the game started was on Alb Pellinor. His name was Entropic Skullcrush and was a dual wiled crush Mercenary. He was GM of my Guild Blood Knights and we were in the Bats Alliance =) Sadly though an ex-friend got pissed at me and logged in and completely emptied my account of everything =(

I honestly dont remember, on hib lance I rerolled several times. That account got sold.

My first gaheris toon was a troll thane, named Somniac Inn. (since i was playing at like 4am)

I met some guys at an internet cafe one day who were playing daoc. I watched them play for a bit. I decided I was going to play and my new friends were all telling me to make a sorc. ... ok what sorc? Avalonian check... what spec body is the best they say So I leveled an avalonian body sorc, ran from campacorington station to prydwen keep bridge. By about level 10 I got a group to kill slavers and went along. I don't remember if it was that we didnt have a tank or at level 10 he had no idea what to do but I ended up tanking ... yes picture this avalonain sorc in scraps armor life tapping and staff whacking for aggro and I would die every pull. This was very frustrating so I decided I'd make something to survive the hits and body sorcs were crap ... ( lol how wrong I'd be proven when ToA went live) ... So I made a merc and I made him highlander and I made him dual wield and slash. I went to prydwen keep bridge again and slavers again and this time I died over and over and over again ... This game is garbage I keep dieing... mercs are supposed to be a tank!!


It was then my friend was watching a roleplay youtube video of two friars fighting over a glowie staff and I fell in love. My friar was amazing it could tank it could heal it had dodger (rip). By this time I had convinced a friend to play and he made a minstrel we duo'd together everywhere. We ran into a Paladin who loved roleplay(we were on guinevere) and he was amazing. He knew where to go he was a great tank(even though he was autotraining) He gave up everything we won/looted/killed for us. I ended up deleting my friar to play midgard on guinevere (before the clustered) but I've never ever had an experience in mmo's like Lence my friar

First toon was Mythical Vanguard, Avalon/Thurg. Made him on lauch day on Tristan. He's still on that account. I remember runnin with the zergs in OF at level 30, if I could find excitment like that again I would almost consider restarting my accts lol. Make that "Try" to restart my accounts since they have things so screwed up now that I couldn't even get them up last time I tried after the account center stupidity.

Played a pole HO armsman to lvl 24.

A week later I had to leave the country for a while.

Came back, and everyone was 50. My friend told me "OMG you need to make an ICE WIZ"- they can nuke through keep doors.

So I did. Till I got bored. And proceeded to play every class in the game.

My first toon was Turric, Briton slash mercenary on Gawaine. Took almost a whole year for me to get to 50. Played him in rvr a lot and finally got to RR7, much of which was running about solo. But after TOA and NF kicked in, rvr started to change on Gawaine. I was reading about the radar programs and decided to try it out. Had it running for almost 6 days before that account got banned. Funny thing is, I used it only once in rvr because it was not all that useful and slowed my computer down. By that point I had several characters on Gaheris and I would use the radar to find specific mobs (I think I was doing a lot of quests and trophy hunting). The radar was useful here.

But one morning on Gaheris, the client crashed and the radar program was still running. I couldn't log back in for awhile and then I got an email about my account being banned. It actually made me laugh at the time. I was kind of relieved in a way. That was around 2006, I think. So it was 5 years before I played again on my remaining two accounts.

All told, I lost 7 level 50s (4 Gaheris, 3 Gawaine) and several LGM crafters. The crap part about it was the fact that I can't use the name Turric on Gaheris. I had just leveled a new mercenary here, a clone of my original on Gawaine, with the same name. He was only a few days at 50 before that acct was banned. I could care less about the account, but I wish they could release the name so that I could remake him on my remaining accounts.
