it offers nothing of value to a group

In Slash the only stun is 6 sec and it's off a block chain so that wouldn't help much with a Crush/dw setup. You may be thinking of Thrust, it dose have an 8 sec off parry stun chain. Tbh though I hate pierce/thrust on everything except scout and certain assassin classes.

Honestly, I never mentioned anything about groups. My Merc is a toon I use in off times when I'm not grouped doing extremely important things. When grouping I use ward/sm, warr/cleric or some other useful set of toons to benefit the group/bg.
