All live servers will be taken offline later this evening, Thursday 11/03, for an emergency hotfix. The servers will be coming down by 5:00 pm EDT / 10:00 pm CET. We anticipate that all servers will be back online no later than 10:00 pm EDT / 3:00 am CET."


So they did a patch filled with inept mistakes, did an update to fix those inept mistakes, and now they have to pull all the servers down for a hotfix to correct....well....even more of their inept mistakes. Seriously!?!? Wasn't all this suppposed to have been tested on Pend. for some time before going live?


Where in the hell did these people learn to do game code and how the hell could anyone continue to employ people that are this completely incapable of doing their job properly? If I were to perform this poorly at my job i'd be fired for sure.


So much for enjoying a day off of work playing DAoC I guess

Can't say I am surprised, this was an ambitious patch in the best of circumstances, but it was rushed and bound to be bug filled. Honestly I expected this patch would be another month or 2 in testing (and as it turns out maybe it should have been) but they wanted it out so out it came.

I remember a time not that long ago when there was excessive downtime we were awarded bonuses to make up for it <hint, hint>. What happened to the mythic that tried to make up for depriving us of the time we paid for?


Anyhoo I'm just wondering if anyone else noticed they are now going out of their way to hide gaheris on the server select? I mean here is a bunch of new PvE quests (supposedly for those rare beasts known as new players) and yet they hide the PvE server. Another not so subtle message from EA/Mythic that Gaheris and pve are secondary to rvr and extraneous in their new vision of the game.

That's not a new vision. It's about 7 years old. Ever since they got burned on ToA and then Catacombs didn't keep people away from WoW and EQ2.

They aren't hiding anything..... They consolidated the login screen. It was stated in patch notes that they were going to. Gaheris and Mordred aren't on the same ruleset so we were given our own server area. Makes sense to me but ... ??? w/e
